Karyn Imel To All Instructors



Karyn Imel is the Director of Families and Students and Campus Manager right here at Legacy. Karyn holds a Masters in School Counseling, a Bachelors in Child & Family Development with a focus on Directing & Management, and credentials in Music, Drama, Media, Art, and Entertainment. She has a rich background in education, retreats, nonprofit leadership, and the arts.

With 25+ years of extensive experience in education, she started off as a homeschooling mama herself to her now adult children, she moved into the Charter system teaching K-12 music, Life Skills, Production and Theater. As an award-winning Musical Theater Director, she has produced and directed more than 20 musicals, nurturing purpose and leadership while managing volunteer teams, production design, and community engagement. Seeing the great need to help students and families more, Karyn moved into mentoring students for academic success along with career/college planning and then became a School Counseling and worked in the district.

Karyn is a seasoned public speaker and professional musician that toured across the country, leading conferences, retreats, worship services, and private events since she was 18 years old. She was part of Campus Crusade’s Music Tour, also an origonal pop band tour, a worship leader, and most recently a Regional Development Director and Executive Assistant for a global nonprofit supporting humanitarian initiatives across multiple nations in Africa. Karyn is looking forward to stepping into a teaching roll here at Legacy to bring heart and joy through her Toolbox Course designed for junior high and high school students to intentionally build their life foundation from the inside out with character and truth.
